BEC Australia is a not-for-profit organisation whose primary role is to support and grow the national network of Business Enterprise Centres and provide representation on behalf of its members to key stakeholders.

A nationwide network of Business Enterprise Centres that are recognised as the first and best point of contact for small business operators seeking quality business information, advice and guidance.


Support and grow the national network of BECs by:

  • Forming strategic alliances
  • Promoting the network
  • Communicating with members
  • Improving professional standards


  • Engage decision makers within government, the private sector and appropriate industry associations on small business issues, including the participation in relevant national small business forums.
  • Disseminate information about, and provide commentary on national and local small business issues to stakeholders, the general community and members.
  • Attract funding from key stakeholders and supporters.
  • Ensure BEC Australia and members operate to the highest standard of good corporate governance.
  • Deliver continual improvement in the professional standards of BEC Australia, its members and staff.
  • Build the BEC brand.
  • Promote BEC services through relevant channels and foster improved access to services for BEC clients
  • Establish new BEC’s and encourage likeminded organisations to join the BEC network.
  • Manage and direct BECA staff and resources to ensure outcomes that align with BEC Australia corporate objectives.
